Welcome to the Fresh Ayr Festival

The Fresh Ayr Festival is an annual celebration of spring, set in the heart of the Village of Ayr. This is a community-supported event held each year on the third Saturday of June

This year's date is June 18, 2005.

The Fresh Ayr Festival focuses on the diverse Village of Ayr, showcasing great local entertainment and art. The intention of this festival includes promoting a sense of community, increasing the local awareness of community businesses and promoting volunteerism within the community.

We are excited about building upon the success of last year's event that celebrated Ayr's 180th anniversary as a village. This is our 5th annual festival and our theme is "celebrating our rural roots". The festival works to reflect the rich heritage and historical events that have shaped the village and is evident in the art, music and activities of the day.

New to the Festival this year we are kicking of the weekend with a concert on Friday night at the Ayr Arena featuring the smooth country sounds of the Terry Sumsion Band. Doors open at 7:15, opening ceremonies at 7:45 with the concert to follow. Tickets are available by calling Norma at 632-7720 or Teresa at 632-8215. Tickets will also be available at the door.

We will start the day off right with a pancake breakfast followed by a grand parade starting at 9:30 a.m. , a pie baking contest, a fishing derby, a pet contest, a vintage automobile show and great upbeat music all day, a bigger and better art show, including a new event this year, the Youth Art Program, childrens events, canoe races on the pond, demonstrations, barbecues and much more. The entire family has the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of great events all day long.
