Dixon

Other than on a pencil or as an ending to "Mason", the word Dixon doesn't
ring a bell to a lot of people--yet! But to an enthusiastic group of traditional country music fans in the London, Ontario area, that name is the greatest thing to hit town in thirty years.

With their fresh rythmic approach to all of the old standards and their
smooth and tight harmony vocals, this group has literally become the favourite group for the Southwestern, Ontario mature dance crowd.

And their fan base is rapidly expanding. Dixon's recent Brantford-area debut
at the Army Navy and Air Force Club yielded a sold-out crowd through word of mouth alone!

Dixon, the band, consists of Jim Dixon, his wife, Cindy Dixon, Jack Lewis,
Guy Malonson and Bill Lewis and are well on their way to becoming one of the best-known attractions on the traditional country music scene.

Jim and Cindy had been performing together at small local events for the
last fifteen years as the Whistling Dixons (although there was no whistling involved), building an impressive repertoire and honing their vocal duet skills. In 2003 the duo brought on Jack, bass guitar and harmony vocals, as a third partner. Shortly after, Bill on drums and Guy on lead, steel guitar, and vocals completed the sound of the band, and the rest as they say is history.

Jim's light hearted stage presence and vocals along with Cindys intense
rendition of anything from Patsy Cline to Patty Loveless form the nucleus of the show. Jack and Guy both lead vocalists as well, share many of the lead spots for added variety in the show.

Dixon will be headlining at the Fresh Ayr Festival on Saturday June 18 and will perform 2 forty-five minute sets scheduled for 12:45 and 2:15 on the main stage.
