The Youth Art Program is a new initiative where artists, art teachers and art professionals come together to help our youth explore creativity and develop an interest in art. Our goal is to help young people learn to express themselves artistically and build confidence and self-esteem through art. We believe this may be achieved by connecting young artists with positive role models who through a program of teaching and mentoring will help them develop their skills and showcase their talent.

The Youth Art Program was made possible through an Intergenerational Project Mini-Grant, offered by the North Dumfries Community Development Network and through a financial contribution from the Public Health Agency of Canada.

The Youth Art Program was held on Saturday May 14. It was a resounding success!  The Art created by the talented young participants was amazing.

Thank you to the Artists who generously donated their time and energies. And a special thank you to Cinda Lund whose drive, determination and vision made the event a success.  Thank you also to North Dumfries for the grant which enabled the program to come to life.
