Welcome to the Fresh Ayr FestivalNew Location - Victoria Park (due to road construction) The Fresh Ayr Festival focuses on the diverse Village of Ayr, showcasing great local entertainment and art. This is our 7th annual festival and our theme is " Celebrating Ayr – A Great Place to Live ". Help us celebrate everything that makes Ayr a great place to live – it is a safe, clean community with wonderful people, diverse and growing businesses and a location that boasts a ponds, parks, and swans – to name but a few of Ayr's attributes. This year we will again host the Youth Art Program . The Program will be held on June 2, 2007 at the Ayr Arena. We will also be featuring the Youth Art Contest - the work of all contributors will be displayed in the Youth Art tent at the Festival. The winners will be announced at the Festival. We are also pleased to host the 2nd annual Ayr Idol Contest. Singers ages 12-18 start practicing. The preliminary round will be held on June 9. Finalists will perform at the Festival. Join us for very popular Art in the Park - an annual outdoor show in the park featuring artists and vendors. Items will include garden art, home decor, original paintings, jewelry, furniture and other unique handcrafted items. This year we are expanding the Parade.Watch for the advertisement in the newspaper soliciting entries. We're also looking for performers for the day. If you are interested in showcasing your talents dowload the Performer Application Form and submit it to us via email. In addition, we will start the day off with a Pancake Breakfast followed by the parade, a Fishing Derby, a pet contest , children's events, the Heritage Transport Amazing Race, being held at Victoria Park, demonstrations, barbecues and much more. The entire family has the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of great events all day long. Admission and parking are free. Please come and join us for a great day of fun for the whole family and stay posted for updates to events and activities. Directions From Toronto - Take Hwy 401 west to exit 268. At exit ramp lights, turn left onto Cedar Creek Rd. (Hwy 97). Head west for approx. 3km, going past the stoplights. The next road is Trussler Rd. (look for Coleman dealership). Turn left onto Trussler Rd. Continue south until you come to the stop sign. Turn left (onto Township Rd 11) to cross the bridge over the 401. Immediately after the bridge, turn right onto the continuation of Trussler Rd. After approximately 2km you will cross a set of train tracks. The next left after the tracks is Gladstone Rd. Turn left and go 1/2km to a tee intersection. (This is Piper St .) Turn left and continue into Ayr for approximately 1km. The second street on the right is Walter St. Turn right and at the end of the street is the entrance to Victoria Park. As the ring road around the park is one way, please stay to the right. From Brantford – Take Hwy 403 west to Paris exit ( Paris Rd-formerly Hwy #2). Exit and stay to the right on Hwy 2. Go past stoplights at the Olde School House Restaurant. At next lights (Tim Horton's ahead) turn left onto Dundas St . Go under rail overpass and turn right onto Willow St . Go down the hill to the 4 way stop at William St. Turn left onto William St. crossing the Grand River bridge. At the lights (CIBC ahead) turn right onto Grand River Street . Head north, back up hill, through lights, past McDonalds, past another set of lights and back out of town. Turn left onto Watt's Pond Rd for approx. 3km to stop sign. Turn right onto Ayr Paris Rd. Continue for approximately 7km, past large T.V. tower on the left and into Ayr . At the tee intersection turn left onto Stanley St. and continue to the stop sign (beside the cenotaph). Go through the intersection, cross the bridge and you will come to a forked intersection (near the arena). Stay to the left onto Church St . At the end of Church St. is the entrance to Victoria Park. As the ring road around the park is one way, please stay to the right. From London – Take the 401 east to exit 268A. At exit ramp, turn left onto Cedar Creek Rd. (Hwy 97). Head west for approx. 3km, go past 3 sets of stoplights. The next road is Trussler Rd. (look for Coleman dealership). Turn left onto Trussler Rd. Continue south until you come to the stop sign. Turn left (onto Township Rd 11) to cross the bridge over the 401. Immediately after the bridge, turn right onto the continuation of Trussler Rd. After approximately 2km you will cross a set of train tracks. The next left after the tracks is Gladstone Rd. Turn left and go 1/2km to a tee intersection. (This is Piper St .) As the ring road around the park is one way, please stay to the right. From Kitchener – Take Fischer-Hallman Rd south to the tee intersection in Roseville. Turn right onto Roseville Rd. and continue for approximately 1/2km. You will come to an intersection of sorts where you can either continue straight ahead or take a curve to the left. Please continue straight ahead to the stop sign at Trussler Rd. Turn left onto Trussler Rd. until you see the Coleman dealership on the right and there is a stop sign (this is Cedar Creek Rd. aka Hwy 97). Continue south through the intersection until you come to the next stop sign. Turn left (onto Township Rd 11) to cross the bridge over the 401. Immediately after the bridge, turn right onto the continuation of Trussler Rd. After approximately 2km you will cross a set of train tracks. The next left after the tracks is Gladstone Rd.
