Ayr North Dumfries Lions Club

The Ayr North Dumfries Lions Club was chartered in 1999. They have 14 members and are always looking for new ones with fresh ideas and enthusiasm! The Lions Club organizes and runs the annual Santa Claus Parade and the Fishing Derby at the Fresh Ayr Festival. They provide financial support to many local minor sports and youth organizations, either by team sponsorship or cash donations. In addition, the Lions Club contributes dollars to each of the three schools' student recognition programs and we contribute $500 in food vouchers each year to Neighbours Helping Neighbours Christmas Hamper program. These vouchers allow the hamper recipients to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. Their major fund raiser for the past eight years has been our “April in Ayr” craft show. They maintain and operate the Lions Ball Park (across from Danayr) that is home to the Ayr & District Slow Pitch League. Other Lions causes such as Dog Guides, Juvenile Diabetes Research, Diabetes Awareness and the elimination of preventable blindness in the world also receive our financial support.
